"Back in 2021, while insured with Allstate, I was involved in a major, non-at-fault, non-moving incident. I was informed that this incident would impact my rates for three years, after which it would no longer be considered in pricing. In 2024, I began shopping around for better rates. State Farm offered a quote that was slightly lower than what I was paying with Allstate. However, I was told I wouldn’t be eligible for good driving discounts until the full 3 years had passed since the 2021 incident. I accepted this and moved my policy to State Farm. Now, nearly three and a half years since the original incident, I noticed no change in my premiums. Upon calling to inquire, I was informed that the 3-year period doesn’t start from the date of the incident, but instead from the start of my State Farm policy. This is a crucial detail that was not clearly communicated when I signed up. Had I known this, I likely would have remained with Allstate, where I’d already be eligible for discounts. I feel misled and disappointed, as I made a financial decision based on incomplete or unclear information. State Farm clearly demonstrated they were not looking out for my best interest."
